Industrial Engineer graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana in the United States. Since 1987, Gutiérrez has held different positions within DEACERO, a steel company founded by his father, Don César Gutiérrez, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, in 1952. He is currently the General Director of DEACERO. In addition, he is part of the Board of Directors of the University of Monterrey, the Chamber of the Transformation Industry of Nuevo León and the Employers' Confederation of the Mexican Republic. Since December 2021, he has chaired the National Chamber of the Iron and Steel Industry.
